Sprint has announced that it’s splitting its unlimited data plan into two tiers with each having its own data allotment and restrictions. The company will continue to sell these as “unlimited” plans even though they can’t be classified as providing a truly unlimited experience for mobile data. The first tier of Sprint’s two unlimited plans is called Unlimited Basic. It’s a toned-down version of the $60 per month Sprint Unlimited Freedom plan. Users will get 500MB of hotspot data while video will be throttled down to 480p. A Hulu subscription is available as well with this tier.Unlimited Plus is the second tier of the split unlimited plan. Subscribers will get 15GB of LTE hotspot data every month with no video throttling. Subscribers also receive a free subscription to Tidal and Hulu for the same amount.
